Ekspress Grupp’s revenues increased to EUR 69.1 million last year 28.02
The business volumes of AS Ekspress Grupp increased due to digital revenue growth both in the fourth quarter as well as year-over-year. The Group’s sales revenue for the fourth quarter increased by 11% and totalled EUR 19.5 million and the revenue for the 12 months increased by 8% and totalled EUR 69.1 million. The Group’s digital revenue increased by 23% year-over-year and it made up 38% of total revenue.
Ekspress Grupp’s profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization
(EBITDA) totalled EUR 1.2 million in the fourth quarter and EUR 4.2 million year-over-year.
As compared to the same period in 2017, EBITDA decreased by EUR 0.3 million in
the fourth quarter and by EUR 2.5 million year-over-year.
According to Mari-Liis Rüütsalu, Chairman of the Management Board of Ekspress
Group, profitability was positively impacted by rapid digital revenue growth,
primarily in Estonia and Lithuania. “On the negative side, our performance was under
pressure due to strong price competition and growth of input prices in the printing
services segment as well as for paper periodicals in media segments. The
results of the second half of the year also include one-off costs in the amount
of almost EUR 1 million mostly related to the reorganisation of the work of
Ajakirjade Kirjastus and revaluation of the carrying amount of the book
warehouse taken over from Ajakirjade Kirjastus,” noted Rüütsalu.
