Comment by Liina Liiv, Chair of the Management Board of Ekspress Grupp:

“Ekspress Grupp’s total number of digital subscriptions grew by 7% in 2025, reaching 255,964 subscriptions by the end of the year. Overall, this is a strong result that confirms the validity of our long-term strategy even in a challenging economic environment.

The fourth quarter was economically difficult across the Baltic States, which was also reflected in a slowdown in subscriber growth to 5%. Low consumer confidence and general caution in spending affected people’s willingness to take out new digital subscriptions in all Baltic markets.

In Estonia, Delfi Meedia’s results for the past year show stable growth of 9% overall. This is an excellent result in a mature market where Delfi Meedia already has more than 124,000 subscribers. In the Estonian market, each new subscriber is becoming increasingly valuable for a media company and requires a more personalised approach than before.

The 4% decrease in Õhtuleht’s subscriber base is mainly due to changes in the terms of a major corporate client agreement, as the number of shared accounts decreased significantly upon contract renewal. The 15% decline at Geenius Meedia, which moved under Delfi Meedia’s ownership at the end of the year, is related to a change in the methodology for counting subscribers and has no impact on the company’s revenue or profitability.

In Latvia and Lithuania, we continue to see growing interest in digital news. Annual growth of 14% and 12% respectively in the Delfi portals confirms the continued growth potential of the Latvian and Lithuanian markets. Particularly strong results were achieved by Delfi Latvia in the fourth quarter, when we recorded quarterly growth of 22%. We will continue to work intensively across all markets on both product development and targeted marketing activities.”
