The Baltic region’s leading media group, AS Ekspress Grupp, increased its sales revenue by 5% and its number of digital subscribers by 7% in 2025. The company’s net profit declined to €1 million due to one-off costs.
Ekspress Grupp’s Q4 2025 sales revenue grew by €0.4 million (+2%) year-on-year, reaching €23.9 million. Full-year 2025 sales revenue increased by €4.1 million (+5%) compared to the previous year, reaching €80.2 million.
According to Ekspress Grupp Chairman of the Board Liina Liiv, revenue growth was driven by the group’s investments in the conference business, ticketing, and digital out-of-home screens. “Revenue growth was also supported by Delfi Lithuania’s artificial intelligence project and continued growth in digital subscription revenue, ticketing platform revenue, and digital out-of-home screen revenue. On the other hand, the group’s operations were affected by the generally subdued business environment across the Baltic states, which was reflected in a 7% decline in advertising revenue over the 12-month period,” said Liiv.
Digital subscription revenue and the number of digital subscribers of the group’s media companies grew year-on-year in all three countries. During the year, the group added approximately 18,000 digital subscriptions across the Baltic states, an increase of 7%. Ekspress Grupp reached 256,000 subscriptions by the end of 2025.
Ekspress Grupp’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to €5.3 million in Q4, an increase of €0.1 million (+1%) year-on-year. Full-year EBITDA was €10.8 million, also up €0.1 million (+1%) year-on-year.
The consolidated net loss for Q4 2025 was €0.9 million, which was €4.0 million below the prior-year result. The consolidated net profit for the full year 2025 was €1.0 million, a decrease of €2.2 million.
According to the Chairman of the Board, Q4 net profit was negatively affected by one-off costs totalling €4.2 million, arising from a loss on the sale of Lithuanian news portal Lrytas UAB and a write-down related to the transfer of the Geenius Meedia stake under Delfi Meedia within the group’s structure. In addition, full-year net profit was also affected by a one-off gain of €2.0 million from the sale of a shareholding in associate company SIA Altero.
Excluding one-off transactions, Q4 2025 net profit was €3.3 million, which is €0.2 million (+6%) higher than the previous year, and full-year net profit was €3.2 million, broadly in line with the prior-year result, down less than 1%.
AS Ekspress Grupp is the leading media group in the Baltic states, with operations spanning online media content production and the publishing of newspapers, magazines and books. The group also operates an electronic ticketing platform and ticket sales points, and provides digital out-of-home screen services in Estonia and Latvia. In addition, group companies organise conferences, training events and other events primarily in Estonia and Lithuania, as well as in Latvia.
