The sales revenue of Ekspress Grupp, the leading media group in the Baltic states, continued to grow both in Q3 and in the 9-month summary, and the company earned a profit of 2.4 million euros in the quarter, according to Ekspress Grupp’s interim report for Q3 2025.
Ekspress Grupp’s Q3 sales revenue increased by 1.1 million euros year-on-year (+6%), reaching 17.9 million euros. The 9-month sales revenue for 2025 increased by 3.6 million euros compared to the previous year (+7%) to 56.3 million euros.
Mari-Liis Rüütsalu, chair of the management board of Ekspress Grupp, said that the largest contribution to both the last quarter’s and the 9-month growth came from the conference companies acquired in Estonia and Lithuania in 2024. “In addition, Delfi Lithuania’s artificial intelligence project and continued growth in digital subscription revenues across all countries contributed to the revenue increase. Among other businesses, ticketing platform revenues and digital outdoor screen revenues grew. At the same time, the group’s operations were affected by the general downturn in the Baltic states’ business environment, which manifested in a 2% decrease in advertising revenues in Q3 and 5% over 9 months,” said Rüütsalu.
Digital revenues for the 9 months increased by 5% year-on-year. The digital subscription revenues and the number of people with digital subscriptions of the group’s media companies increased year-on-year in all three countries during the same period. Over the year, the group gained nearly 22,000 digital subscriptions (+10%) in the Baltic states and reached 245,000 subscriptions by the end of Q3 2025.
Ekspress Grupp’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in Q3 was 2.4 million euros, increasing by 0.4 million euros year-on-year (+21%). The 9-month EBITDA was 5.5 million euros, which is at the previous year’s level. “We are satisfied that our profitability grew by a higher percentage than sales revenue. The growth was supported by the training and conference business acquired in 2024, but due to the weak economic environment in the Baltic states, media companies’ advertising sales were under pressure, which in turn negatively affected EBITDA,” noted Rüütsalu.
The consolidated profit for Q3 2025 amounted to 2.4 million euros, which is 2.1 million euros more than a year earlier. The consolidated net profit for the 9 months of 2025 was 1.9 million euros, an increase of 1.8 million euros. Of both the Q3 and 9-month net profit growth, 2.0 million euros consists of a one-time profit from the sale of a stake in the associated company SIA Altero.
